Is it possible to scan a man with a 3D scanner? Here are the results of 3D face scanning with PEEL 2 handheld scanner. One is made as a mesh in STL format, and the other as a mesh with superimposed texture (color). The effect is satisfactory. Only the reconstruction of the beard area indicates that the scanner had a problem with proper data acquisition. On the other hand, there is no 3D scanner that would not have problems with hair digitalization, since human hair is an object with a thickness of several tens of micrometers – a value far below the accuracy of most 3D scanners on the market.
