3D gauges in medicine
3D gauges in medicine
We would like to present the case of a person who suffered from very severe heel pain and huge problems with walking properly. Preoperatively, a 3D model was made for her on the basis of CT scans in the program slicer3D . The project was very demanding and time-consuming due to the complicated structure of human feet. The final result in the form of 3D printing using MJF (MultiJetFusion) technology was very satisfactory. Thanks to it, doctors were able to prepare better and see what a healthy heel looks like in comparison to a diseased heel which resulted in reducing the time of the operation itself. Most importantly in such cases, that is, the patient’s health improved significantly. The gauges and templates made with 3D printing are increasingly common in operating rooms.
